As every year, I was participating in one of the carpentry workshops organised by Dirk Mortier under the aegis of the Round Table of Architecture, when I started receiving strange messages from people congratulating me.

The Academia Vivarium Novum gave me a honorable mention in the «Humanitas and the harmony of place» contest 2026!
How could I be more surprised? I had completely forgotten about it. I had simply sent my drawings and carried on with my things.
Well, thanks a lot!
Most of all, thanks to those in the Traditional community who kept pushing me to send the drawings and overcome my aversion to overexposure (yes, you know who you are!);
and thanks to CPI — the Classic Planning Institute — especially Dr. Buras and Pablo Álvarez Fúnez, who followed the design process of this proposal (with me sometimes ferociously defending it during the reviews).

The urban proposal regenerates approximately 4 ha of the Wondelgem suburb in Ghent (East Flanders) into a lively and denser urban neighbourhood, while simultaneously meeting modern urban standards and the traditional European quality of living.
The 1st panel presents a comparison of Nolli maps showing publicly accessible space. This highlights analytically the difference in the structuring of public space, or Res Publica, between Traditional Urbanism and suburban car-centered sprawl fabric.
The 2nd panel displays the general urban plan in a more qualitative way, indicating the location of public functions and key buildings.
The 3rd panel features an axonometric view of one of the focal points of the proposal.
And, of course, NO AI was used.
