When I started my own architectural website in 2019 I had no particular expectation or goal to pursue, I just needed a place where to upload my activity blog and my projects to show to clients and partners.
Then the pandemic came and a lot of friends of mine had their pages on the social networks or Wordpress taken down because of sharing ironic memes on how it was managed.
That's when I decided to duplicate and enhance the template of this website and put it "open source" for a small group of friends: the Polemical Architect blog was born. Nothing special, it's about 60K visitiors per year. Sometimes I still write on it, but the point is that doing something for people who value my efforts is something I really like. Like that time when Architectural Uprising picked an analysis I made on "Architecture in a Multipolar World", reflecting on the self-inflicted demise of Europe for what concerns the environment in which traditional architecture should grow. They re-edited my post, which was meant for the TAG24 conference, and which had a strong content of economic analysis and political critique on the current state of affairs, to transform it into a proposal for better architecture.
